 ADS, Inc. is currently seeking a Business Development Manager to provide increased support to our State Department, Health and Human Services and/or FEMA customers. This position will be based out of the hired candidate's home office or out of our Virginia Beach Headquarters . All candidates MUST possess extensive Sales experience with a demonstrated track record of achievement (top 10% of current sales team or better). Military/Government Sales is strongly preferred and military service experience is helpful but not required. Ideal candidates will possess an extensive current network of Federal community contacts to draw from for immediate success in this role.

 

Duties:

Represent ADS within the State Department, FEMA and HHS Accounts.

Identify program needs and objectives.

Identify initial purchases and priorities, manufacturers, product categories and technologies.

Identify preferred and/or optimal means of procurement.

Serve as the lead for all large scale solicitations.

Engage and establish long term sales and service solutions.

Market/Industry analysis.

Analyze market trends, new requirements, new program inceptions.

Gather intelligence.

Create new solutions in response to market changes.

Represent preferred vendor products as applicable.

Work with internal ADS support staff.

Communicate with support staff to make sure customer deadlines are met, agreements are in place, strategic alliances are established, etc.

Make cold calls, face-to-face and via telephone prospecting to develop new business.

Creatively address customer problems, becoming a true resource and solutions provider.

Understand contract/funding methods and assist customers in their use.

Partner with suppliers to provide best products & values to meet customer requirements.

Determine innovative strategies to win business.

Provide management with sales plan on a monthly basis.

 

Qualifications:

Must possess current network of strong relationships with relevant Federal programs and program managers.

Must possess a strong existing knowledge of State Department, FEMA and/or HHS customers, structure, contracts and requirements.

Absolutely must be a highly competitive, challenge-oriented "self-starter" with the will/desire to be the best at what you do.

2+ years of experience with government programs, either in sales or development.

2 years experience in government contracts & procedures.

Must be comfortable talking to "anyone" at all organizational tiers. WILL BE REQUIRED TO MAKE A BRIEF PRESENTATION AS PART OF THE INTERVIEW PROCESS.

Relevant Bachelor's degree required.

Must be utterly committed to providing legendary customer service.

Strong understanding of government contracts, program-level defense procurement and relevant purchasing methods required.

50-75% Travel: Able to meet with customers outside under all weather conditions and must be able to travel by car/plane for long distances.

Must be an excellent communicator - both in writing and in person with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Must understand basic business financial concepts and to be able to budget own expenses in a cost effective manner.

2+ years experience/demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, et cetera and willing to quickly learn use customer/prospect contact activities tools (CRM systems).
